Jeremy Shrader Biography

Jeremy ShraderOver the last fifteen years, Jeremy Shrader has performed thousands of times throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.  He has been asked to contribute compositions and perform on a dozen CDs with several Memphis artists of varying styles.  Shrader has provided trumpet solos, lead and background vocals, guitar, and keyboard tracks showcasing his flexibility as an artist.

Jeremy is also is a staple on the Mid-South event scene. His groups are loved by event planners and brides alike and his 16-piece big band, The New Memphis Hepcats, and various smaller ensembles keep events hopping.  His true gift is for interpreting swing and jazz standards with his golden voice and trumpet to match, a skill which he has honed since he fell in love with big band music as a teenager in Clarksville, TN.  Although the two self-released CDs by the Hepcats demonstrate Shrader's talents as a singer, trumpeter, composer, arranger, and bandleader; it is truely in front of a live audience where he really flourishes.  He can be seen regularly in Memphis at fine dining restaurants, upscale bars, swanky events, and the occasional dive.

In 2005, Jeremy flexed his musical muscle by taking on the roles of producer and recording engineer, co-founding the Electric Room record label.  To date Electric Room has released three CDs and is currently producing a CD for the Memphis Tourism Foundation featuring 12 local bands, including the Hepcats.  Shrader received his Bachelors of Music in Jazz Composition in 2001 from the University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music.  He is also an educator in his own right, serving as a private guitar, band, and general music teacher in both private and group settings.
